Laurence Furic
Laurence Furic has been a Jewish Family Congregant since 2005. She had also been an Early Childhood Center mother prior to joining, and had participated in the High Holidays services as well as Passover Seders. She is actively engaged in the Choir and studies Hebrew and cantillation.
She is also passionate about Judaism and loves writing. She has been a blogger since 2006. Laurence Furic is the mother of two boys who fully participate in the Congregation’s life where they found a family far away from their native home in Paris, France. You can read Laurence’s posts here.
Rabbi Carla Freedman
Rabbi Carla Freedman has been Jewish Family Congregation’s rabbi since July 1997. Rabbi Carla was the first Canadian woman ordained as a rabbi. She also became the very first HUC (Hebrew Union College) ordinee to become a grandmother.
Rabbi Carla loves engaging people in Judaism by conveying its richness and its modernity. Rabbi Carla also has a special bond with children, and they have exciting opportunities to develop their Jewish identity thanks to her talents in storytelling and her eagerness to give everyone a strong sense of Jewishness.
